Dr. Zacery Brown is a member of the DHS class of 1997. Brown has spent his life in the field of education.After graduating DHS, Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bryan College and completed his Master’s work in Educational Leadership, in addition to earning the designation of Educational Specialist, at Tennessee Tech. Brown also earned a Master’s in Mathematics from Western Governor’s University and his Doctor of Education with Trevecca Nazarene University.Brown began his teaching career at Rhea County High School where he taught mathematics and was coach of the wrestling team. He then moved to Chattanooga to become principal at East Ridge High School and later assumed the principal’s role at Howard High School. Dr. Brown was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Operations for Hamilton County Schools. Currently, Brown serves as Director of Secondary Schools for Hamilton County’s Opportunity Zone.Dr. Brown serves on the UTC Chancellor’s Round Table, the board of the Lookout Mountain Conservancy, the board of the LAUNCH Program, and the board of the Enterprise Center.He maintains involvement with classroom education by working as an adjunct professor at Chattanooga State Technology University where he teaches mathematical subjects including pre-calculus.
