Brandon Gibson is a 1993 graduate of Dyersburg High School and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the State of Tennessee.Upon graduation from DHS, Gibson attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in agribusiness. From MSU, Brandon attended Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas and practiced law in Texas. She then moved back to Tennessee to practice law in Jackson.In 2013, former Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam appointed Gibson as a judge for the Tennessee Court of Appeals for the Western District and she was sworn into the position in October 2014. She served in the role for 4 years.In January 2019, Brandon was then appointed to Governor Bill Lee’s cabinet as a Senior Advisor, working primarily on rural and criminal justice initiatives.In May 2020, Brandon was named COO for the State of Tennessee and is responsible for working with department commissioners to design a framework that translates strategy into operational priorities and implementation.Gibson also serves on the board of directors of the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation and is on the advisory council of Leadership Tennessee.She and her husband are the parents of one daughter and currently reside on a farm in Crockett County.
