Edward Parrish Jr., 1974 DHS graduate, will also be inducted in April. While at DHS, Parrish was selected as the school’s American Legion Boys State delegate. He also was a two-time selectee on the TSSAA All State Football Team as well as the Most Valuable Player at the Tennessee State Football Championship game in 1974.Following graduation, Parrish attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he was a 4-year letterman and captain of the football squad. He graduated from Vanderbilt with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978.He served as a former board secretary at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville from 1997-1998, and was the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Northwest Arkansas Board President from 2010-2012.He has also held church leadership positions at The Temple Church in Nashville and Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers, Ark.Currently, Parrish is the HR director of transportation for Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in Bentonville, Ark. – a position that he has held since 1999.Edward and his wife of 33 years, Guanica, reside in Rogers, Ark. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
