Florence Tipton Schultz graduated from DHS in 1938. She received a degree in library science from Peabody College, which is today known as Vanderbilt University. Mrs. Schultz became the librarian for Dyersburg High School and then became librarian for Central High School in Vicksburg, Miss. She returned to Dyersburg in 1969 and became the first librarian for Dyersburg State Community College. Mrs. Schultz is proud owner of one of the Dyer County’s Century Farms, which has been handed down from generation to generation and in operation for over 150 years. She remains active in many organizations including: Daughters of the American Revolution and Holy Angels Catholic Church.
