Will Parks was a graduate of the Dyersburg High School’s class of 1903. He attended Vanderbilt for two years before traveling across the world. He completed his education at Harvard University in Boston. He worked for an architect firm in New York where he helped design the columns for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. Mr. Parks moved back to Trimble to continue his family farming interests. He was a retired banker, farm owner, and church leader during his lifetime. He was Trimble’s mayor for 22 years, a member of the Dyer County magistrate court for 28 years, charter member of the Lion’s Club, and an elder at Trimble Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He endowed numerous scholarships to students who attended Vanderbilt and other universities.
